Hello! :)

Well if you happen to just see this blog again recently, hope you're doing well with studying for Common Tests! Haha ah I'm missing how we had to rush together for cadet life and all that already!

And we'll be having a squad outing soon, so keep a look out for it yeah.

Do try to make it. Plus, whenever you're free take a look at our posts. A few pictures on the Multiply site, and whatever pictures you might have.

Recently did quite a bit of viewing of past photos and videos, have quite a few of Yang Shen's videos (speaking of Yang Shen I'm beginning to miss the heavy breathing of his that can be heard in the videos -- not that I want to hear it though haha) but yeah. Videos bring back some memories that photos can't.

Shall find the chance to get them up here one day.

Maybe I should just upload them onto youtube, then "private" it and email y'all the pw or something haha. But really worth the time, I must say. View POP videos, etc photos. Priceless lah, these memories.

Summary for Routine Training on 03112007

Uniform

- Beret must cover half the crest and must be seasoned and look as good as Yeuk Ho’s.
- Those 毛毛 beret should be changed or not you have to pluck all the 毛 to make it look better.
- Shoulder flash should be aligned nicely on the line of the sleeve. No strands of string should come of it. It should look just as good as Liwen’s.
- Badges must also be placed aligned nicely on the line and one finger spacing below the flash.
- For the line, please iron it down well. There should only be one line. Make sure that the line is obvious.
- Name tags must be straight.
- Belts must be polished and is shiny. Belts are to be aligned and only the sliver part can be seen at the first “quan quan”. (you can try using toothpaste to polish if you don’t have the polish)

- Pants (guys):
> both front and back lines must be ironed and pressed down well. Learn from Janson.
> length of pants must be just enough to cover the shoe laces. Not too long or too short.

- Skirts (girls):
> must not be too short and should be just above the knee (Yingying WILL remember to lengthen a bit).

- Boots must be tied with double knots. The heels should be clean and the surface should be shiny especially the top.

All mistakes must be corrected by course day! And remember to have good uniform, or we will suffer in JNCO! :)

General mistakes and things to note

- Movements are too slow!
- Bad posture. Remember chest out, stomach in, chin up!
- Must quicken the pace in which we wear our beret. 10 seconds for ambulances and nursings to wear on. 5 seconds to remove.
- Beret must be folded and placed on the laps with the crest facing up.
- Remember to shout JNCO! and punch your hand up into the air with force after IC says at ease, berets off.
- Do not drag tables or chairs! And must quicken the pace in which we shift tables and chairs. In future, just about 10 people shift the tables would do. The rest can fall in outside.
- When greeting or hormating sirs and ma’am, everyone must stop doing anything and stand at attention when the front person says “Squad, diam!”.
- Remember to place your course manuals facing up on the top right hand corner. All pens are to be placed on the top right hand corner of the course manual too. Remember to standardise.

Remind each other about minor mistakes such the standardisation of course manuals and about your posture! The strength of the squad is the strength of the last man.

Things to do:
1) Form groups of 2 to 3 or individual grouping and tell the IC (Glada) latest by next week. Include the topic you or your group is doing as well.
2) Remember to work on your MOI.
3) Practise commanding. Any questions, look up Standard 3s and of course, squadmates.
4) Train up your stamina and strength.
5) Practise wearing and removing the beret and hair nets.
6) Correct all uniform mistakes.
7) Go through IC procedure.

IC procedure

Reporting for lectures
1) 1 IC knocks the door. Hormat and greet (see grade) and ask for permission for squad to enter.
Knock door.
Open door.
Hormat ma’am.
Greet ma’am.
Say “Lance corporal xxx reporting for xxx. Permission for squad to enter room.”
Say “ squad enter the room”

2) IC stand in a line. First IC give signal to march and turn and another IC will report the strength and so on.

Hands down and greet. (1 IC greet would do)

hmm, many ppl are sad that we will be resuffled to different classes next year. i believe many have cried over such issues. it is ok and normal to cry for someone u miss, but we still can see each other in school right?

Okay. This is just in case you just didn't receive the tele message that was passed down like.. today.

We have to design 3 t-shirts in total:
- One JNCO Half U
- One JNCO PT
- One Squad Tee

JNCO Half U & PT are obviously for JNCO, but the squad tee's for like any occasion you want to wear. Just like your class tee, BOND tee, kind of thing, yeah. And we can use it during JNCO also ma. (If we're allowed to ._.)

SQUAD. wait. u noe. we mus really buck up. in every aspect. esp response movement changing. and the forming of squad. we have been told so many times that we are slow.. y cant we be faster? its not tt hard. u noe its frustrating when we get scolded. if u dun wanna hear it, y cant we improve? its not tt difficult. u noe tt our response is even worse den the std 1s? we have so many more ppl! y cant we jus shout as 1 loud and clear? if we jus continue our performance now, we will nvr be promoted.. u wan every 1 of our RT become JNCO? if u wan continue wif tis kind of standard. u think the encik will be like our instructors? the ans is no! we wan 2 give our std 4s a gd memory an impression tt we r a gd squad, 1 tt can do things as 1. not as individuals.

Er. Those were the comments this Squadmate wanted me to post. Till now I still don't know if he/she wants to be named, so I'll just put it as "this Squadmate". Anyway, I think this Squadmate talked sense. Everyone of us should take it seriously. (Peijun, not Harry Potterly now) How many squadmates do you see, not shouting? This is not a time to be demure and all. Now, if you dont shout. The fact is, you're not going to get your demure image shattered, you're just putting in your effort! Everyone else is doing the same thing, why not you? While I'm doing warm ups, I turn around, I can easily spot a few people not shouting! We're a Standard Two Squad. At least One Year into the new CCA, why aren't we doing the things we should? Selfish as you guys are, do you know that, if this continues, the people who put in effort (referring to the person who told me to post the words above) will be discouraged, and it'll bring the morale down, again? This is probably one of the reasons why the 3 guys wanted to quit in the first place! Any other reasons can be conquered if they feel the pride, the passion, to be in the Squad. When you see our Corp thrashing in Zone Com, do you feel the Pride? The Happiness that you're in this Corp. You share the happiness with your Squadmates. Thats what I mean! We dont feel it in the Squad. Why? If we all do what we have to do, get it done, do it welll, we'll all succeed, here, as a Squad! Things will be so much more meaningful.

Problems.
Squad Forming, The right marker will have to take his dressing quickly, and the others will follow. The people at the front will have to know what they have to do, and do it quick. If not, then the person at the front will have to just take dressing from where they think is appropriate. Do things fast, dont meddle with your hair or something, when you've to take dressing. It'll affect the squadmates at the left, for they take dressing later than you.
Moving from place to place, see others walk, dont walk with them, its just not right. Push yourself, and you'd see your worth in SJ.
Response, what 'the Squadmate' was most concerned about. Hmm, anyway. I see that guys who are capable of loud voices, not even putting in their effort! The girls who can shout, shout! Even those who cant, shout your loudest, dont be afraid of seeming immoral or something.
Squeezing, I do not like seeing that when we squeeze, those people who dont want to squat, they rush to the back. Look, I'm damn pissed about this matter. The people infront will be squating. No one wants to squat. You're being very selfish by leaving them to be the ones squating! In a squad, shouldn't we be looking out for one another? And when they get us to squeeze, we better rush to them! Rush! And not brisk walk or what. Whats the logic behind them getting us to Fall in, then Squeeze, then Fall in again? They want to see the sense of urgency. Remember!

We are a Squad. If you see what you shouldnt be doing, remind them! We dont need the instructors to be there reminding us all the time. They'll be passing out in another 100 odd days, shouldnt we be showing them what we're capable of, now that they've been taking us for the past few months? After this batch of instructors, the new batch of instructors, their expectations would be raised, why not we just get used to it now?

Squad, here, its JNCO we're talking about. The peak of our SJ life.
Take what we've said seriously, pass it on, and well. It'd definitely be worth your time.

During footdrill, if they are looking for a timer in the middle of the squad, volunteer! If you're afraid of being tired, you time, then you just clear your throat. Someone will know what you mean and continue. (Don't stop immediately, we might end up not having a timer if no one understands/hears) Pass this useful message on, for it might help in getting more volunteers, and of course, getting our PTE/Standard Two potential back!

We must maintain our good standard. After the seniors scold us, our discipline reaches its peak. Yes, I totally agree! But I think that we should really remain it at peak. And please, reply when the seniors say something. Sometimes its REALLY soft, even I have to say.

So, JIAYOUs! I believe we have to potential, see how good our peak is! :D

Firstly. I'd like to appeal to the Squad to come for the Squad outing. You should go for everyone of them, but we'll settle this one first.
Our first squad outing wasnt really successful, even though many people felt it was a success because it was fun. Altogether, less than 20 squadmates came. Are we really like this?
Everyone! Please come for this one and enjoy yourself thourougly, before deciding whether you want to skip every squad outing. TO squadmates who have a heart, we plan, all for you.

Why: Squad outing. You better be there. (:
Who: Squad.
Where: East Coast Park. (Obviously, its at the EAST part of Singapore, if you don't know.) Meet at Marine Cove's Mc'Donalds.
When: 5 September 2006, Tuesday, 2pm SHARP
What: Inline-Skating.
How: Try finding out from the other squadmates. I'm not sure. :D
Bring:
1)Rollerblades - If you have, otherwise rent it from the rental shops for around $6.
2)$Money$ - For some drinks or renting of any rollerblades.
3)Handphone - In case you get lost. CHARGE IT BEFOREHAND. Anyway, also that you don't have to borrow other people's HP to call your parents if they're come to fetch you. Otherwise, for your own purposes.
4)CAMERAS! - To take pictures, duh!
Take Note:
#1 [Try not to bring too big bags. Coz renting of lockers cost $1 and they usually have space for only 3 people's bags. ]
#2 [Take care of your own belongings. (: Don't lose them.]
#3 [Please co-operate during the squad outing and don't try to do funny things like, go rent a BIKE instead of rollerblades.

i bet many of you should have heard about the SQUAD OUTING thats coming soon.
yup! are you guys excited? hahaha. okay, back to the point.
the date is decided,
this TUESDAY. apologise to yingying, and anyone else that might not be able to make it.
because this was decided according to the checklist, and almost the whole squad seemed to be able to make it this tuesday, so yeah. sorry once again. its 5th sept 06, tuesday.
we'll be going to east coast park (refrain from using its initials, for its offensive to yixi :D)
meet at marine cove, at 2pm. have lunch at home by yourself, but we should be having dinner together. bring roller skates if you have one, bring money for skates if you dont, ~~bring money for dinner as well.~~ oh and, we'll all be learning skates, even if you dont want to or dnot know how to. this is part of squad bonding okay! learn together, fall together, squadmates. sorry, i don't quite agree with those people who think that we are more bonded. please don't slap me after reading this post. i feel that the objective, Squad Spirit, wasn't proven to the standard threes and everyone else. when they asked us if we could carry on [with pumpings and runnings], they were expecting for a yes answer. yesterday during PT. i'm sure everyone put in alot of effort. i'm now reffering to the running part. ya. yaxin and jiamin put in alot of effort lorh. although they were like damn tired. yaxin even said that she cant breathe le. lol. as for jiamin's case. i still dunno yet. but i think its because pregnant woman just give birth haven regain full energy yet. lol.

FIRSTLY. its quite OBVIOUS (http://-obviously.blogspot.com! GO;TAG-OKAY) what i'll be blogging about. what you guys have been slogging out for.

STANDARD ONE COMPETITION!
ohwell. as everyone obviously (OBVIOUSLY!) knows, its inter-house.
so everyone JIAYOU! seriously, put in your heart and soul man! then all your practice will pay off. man. its like. 6 extra hours and plus 100minutes extra training PER WEEK you know.
so well. dont waste all the time you've stayed back for. study study, and make your house proud of you. dont you want that to happen. so cool right. oh well.
and also. dont give yourselves too much pressure. i just thought it over today. its a friendly competition among the squad. i dont mind losing to the squad. what i deem as my motivation (hmm, correct english?) is the standard fours. i really want to prove to them that we have improved, and we really have learnt to love, and learnt to learn. i heard that in one routine training, staff yusong, well, pumped us. i wasnt there. (OH. i will address this later.) so i hope he will see our performance, IF HE GOES, and well. look back and know that he has not wasted his first half of the year on us. only then will he be able to take his O levels with a peace of mind AND also with the thought that the std1s will be supporting him, wherever he goes, whether or not he signs back on.

and umm. that thing i wanted to address. the first half of the year, dont really see me hor. wakakaka. i only starting coming about staff yusong told me my attendance rate was less than half, oh my god. oh well. that was the case of i USED to hate it. so always -erm- skip one. then i kept coming, and starting loving it more and more. so, for those who havent really loved the whole idea of sj, the whole squad yet, come more, bond more. and dont try quitting, for it will only break our squad's heart. ): so please dont quit, okay? you dont know how many people really enjoy your presence, and the way you saved the skit on POP day, why not stay on? you have a compassionate heart. you'll make a great first aider. whatever the outcome, the squad shall remain friends with you, FOREVER. Can we not have the phototaking session tomorrow? Quite a number of the houses have competition training tomorrow, and it'll be very rush for us. Besides, I asked some people whether they knew that tomorrow will be the phototaking thing. It wasnt' included in the message that was passed down to me. And I think that competition training would start at 1430.
